As consumers seek eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastic diapers, many are concerned about the environmental impact and plastic toxicity. However, not all diapers claiming to be ‘eco-friendly’ live up to these promises. Some manufacturers make misleading claims that their products are plant-based or biodegradable, while in reality, they are no different from conventional plastic diapers. Unfortunately, many of these so-called ‘eco-friendly’ brands continue to rely heavily on plastic and synthetic materials, deceiving consumers into paying a premium for products that don’t align with their environmental values.
While we also use synthetic components in our diaper, we have significantly reduced overall synthetic content while greatly increasing the use of natural, renewable fibers.

Today’s consumers want personal care products that are made from natural, plant-based materials that reduce harm to their users and to the environment. However, unlike other types of products that can be readily transformed into an eco-friendly design, diapers have posed a unique challenge. This results from their heavy reliance on synthetic materials to transfer moisture and mess away from the top sheet and into the core of the diaper to reduce leaks, blowouts and moisture on the skin.

While consumers are demanding environmentally-friendly alternatives to conventional plastic diapers, which, many believe, are harming the environment and contributing to plastic toxicity, many diaper products that bill themselves as “eco-friendly” are far from it. Unscrupulous diaper manufacturers have answered the call for eco-friendly diapers with deceptive claims that their products are plant-based or biodegradable – when they are no different than conventional diaper brands that are mainly constructed from plastic. In fact, many “eco-friendly” diaper brands are deliberately misleading consumers into believing that the products they are purchasing, at a premium price, are made with natural ingredients that come from plants, when they continue to rely heavily on plastic and other synthesized materials that are harmful to the environment.

With our patent-pending technology, Cottonsie™ has answered the call for an eco-friendly diaper that is constructed with less plastic and more natural materials! After extensive research and development, our scientists have designed a high-performance disposable cotton diaper that is non-toxic and 82% biodegradable in just 18 months. Cottonsie™ diapers are plant-based, and include a 100% cotton top sheet, back sheet, and ADL. In fact, only a fraction of our diaper’s components are constructed from plastic, which are mainly concentrated in the tab closure system for superior safety and performance. In addition, we incorporate spandex in the leg cuffs for a snug and comfortable fit.
